As Senior Technical Designer on Marathon’s Loot & Economy team for Season 2, I acted as Loot Designer for the new Night Marsh activity and lead improvements to the Item Status Effects feature.
Accomplishments#
- Acted as Loot Designer for the new Night variant of Dire Marsh in collaboration with both Loot & Economy and the Activities team to develop a fresh experience in a familiar space.
- Absorbed and acted on player feedback on Item Status Effects in Season 1 in order to drive tech and content improvements in Season 2 to address player pain points and confusion.
- Worked with designers to make rapid changes to Key Templates late in Season 2 using the tech developed for Item Status Effects to build a system that drives player engagement with the activity rather than discourages it.
