As the Senior Technical Designer on Marathon’s Loot & Economy team I acted as both a creative and technical owner of multiple progression and economy features on Bungie’s first new title since 2017.
Accomplishments#
- Helped ship Bungie’s first new title since 2017
- Built a powerful loot content framework that empowered designers to build a diverse set of “loot stories” while maintaining levers for macro control of the economy
- Developed the design framework for loot placement to be applied throughout Marathon’s diverse set of maps and lead the team of loot placement designers in delivering a completely revamped world loot experience between Alpha and release.
- Built a suite of ‘Scripted Workflows’ using Bungie internal ‘Bungie Script’ language and Investment API to significantly simplify and harden the item and cosmetic content creation pipeline with a focus on usability, stability, and speed.
- Lead loot design for the Cryo Archive, Marathon’s end game activity through close collaboration with loot designers and activity designers to deliver an experience unique to the extraction shoot space.
